Children will be tested on their times tables every Friday afternoon. Knowledge of times tables is crucial in assisting the children in their learning and ensuring they reach their full potential. 

If possible, please ensure a few minutes after school is spent focusing on times tables as it would benefit the children greatly. Each child has a Times Table Rockstar login which is a fun way to learning. It provides opportunities for the children to play against each other in 'Times Table Battles' and even against teachers! If you require log in details, please ask.

Reading at home should happen on a daily basis. Children's ability to read will impact their learning and progress in every other subject. When listening to your child read, ask them to summarise what they have read and if possible, ask questions about the book to help develop further your children's inference and comprehension skills. 

Maths and English homework will also be sent home on a Friday and is expected to be handed in by the following Thursday. Children are told to try their best but if they are struggling with any aspect of their work, support will be given in school.
