World Book Day 2026
World Book Day at Phoenix Primary was a fantastic celebration of stories, imagination and creativity! The school was buzzing with excitement as our children enjoyed visits from special guest readers, including children’s author Angela Marie James, who inspired pupils with her wonderful storytelling and passion for books. Our guest readers brought stories to life with energy and enthusiasm, making the day truly memorable. One of the biggest highlights of the day was our lively “Masked Reader” competition, where staff disguised both their faces and their voices—keeping everyone guessing until the very end! Our adults joined in the fun too, arriving in brilliant costumes ranging from colourful Mr Men characters to the Three Little Bears, and even a few wonderfully wild creatures inspired by Where the Wild Things Are. It was a joyful, laughter‑filled day that showcased our whole school community’s love of reading.
