One of the most exciting events of the Liverpool Primary Sports calendar is District Athletics, which takes place at Wavertree Athletics Centre. Pupils from all over the city compete in many different events all desperately trying to gain a place in prestigious city finals.

For the first time, Phoenix took a team along to compete. Pupils from Year 5 and 6 took part in the different events, such as: -800 metre run (well done Haryad, Sophia, Mohammed and Ritaj) -75 metre sprint (well done Pleroma and Karl) -150 metre sprint (well done Phone and Rafa) -Long jump (well done Pleroma, Mohammed and Ritaj) -High Jump (well done Rafa, Haryad, Sophia).

The efforts of all children were commendable, and they demonstrated incredible resilience on an extremely warm evening. You represented our school with great pride and commitment.

Special mentions to Haryad and Sophia who may just about qualify for the city finals – an incredible achievement.
