Summer 2 - This half term we will be talking about transport, journeys and transition. Reading lots of stories, poems and non fiction books.  

Summer 1

This half term the children will be looking at Minibeasts, lifecycles, planting and Growth. We will also look at the differences between fact and fiction books.    

Spring 2

This half term the children will be looking at Traditional Tales. We will look at the similarities in the stories and ask P4C questions. Was Goldilocks doing the right thing breaking into the Bears cottage? Who was in the wrong Jack or the Giant? We will also look at Traditional Tales from a different perspective.   

Spring 1

We will be reading the book Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers and The Mitten by Jan Brett. The children will be using the texts to explore all of the EYFS areas of learning. We will be exploring the Winter theme and looking more closely at clothing, food and polar animals.  

Autumn 2

We will be looking at Funny Bones and Meg and Mog during our 'Sparkles and Spells' Week and Percy the Park Keeper to continue our Autumn Theme.  

Autumn 1 

We will be reading lots of books in Foundation Stage which show the children that we are all different and all special. 'Only One You' and 'You be You' by Linda Kranz are two of the books we will look at. Talking about friendships, being kind, caring and collaborative, along with having our own ideas and exploring the environment around us.
