Phoenix Primary School ‘Where We Rise to the Challenge’

Children's Work

Wednesday 12th May Enterprise week. Our task was to cheer up Earnest Ernest by making him a funfair ride.

Monday 26th April 2021. This week we have been learning about time.

In Science week we investigated whether it was possible to change the size of a shadow.

Our DT project for this term is to build a model of the Titanic. Today we evaluated materials to decide which would be the best to use in our model.

A huge “well done” to Lewis, Elliot and Jayden who are doing an excellent job with their remote learning.

We have been designing our ideal healthy meal in PSHE today.

5.11.2020 in our art lesson this week we loved mixing our primary colours and white to make these colour wheels.

We have been learning to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

We have been practising our number bonds up to 20 and remembering what each digit in a 2-digit number represents.

Now we’re ready to do some 2-digit to 2-digit addition and subtraction. It was tricky but we were resilient.

We interviewed Ms O’Gorman about her life and made a timeline using the blocks, then we made one on the computer.

For our thematic work this term we have made our family trees.

After we looked at Ms. O’Gorman’s time-line, we made our own life stories.

For art this term we are learning to weave. We investigated different materials to see which ones were best to weave with. We discovered that the best materials were flexible. We put this word on our vocabulary tree too.

For world mental health day we made #bekind posters.

We’ve been finding out about the history of our school. Did you know that it used to be called Birchfield school and it had a swimming pool.

Happy half term everybody
