Science Rocks at Phoenix... and the word is spreading!

In 2017 Phoenix had a request from the company "Rising Stars" to come into school to show us a new science scheme and assessment materials that had recently been published. After a tour around school and discussions with me, (Sue Evans Science lead) we were delighted to be asked to accommodate more visitors from the company who were looking for investigations to be able to be used in their resources. They were "Impressed and excited about the enthusiasm and attitude you have towards science in your school." (Jaz and Athena-from rising stars).

Year 6 had just completed their work on the circulatory system so we decided to show our visitors how we would undertake an investigation on the formation of blood! We all had a great time and Jaz said that this was "some of the best practicals she had seen" and "I wish science was like this when I was at school."

What has this meant?

We were asked to review the new science scheme and in return we would get the scheme free of charge.

We were given a class set of English and maths revision books for year 6.

I was asked to write a blog for the Rising Stars website.
