Phoenix Primary School ‘Where We Rise to the Challenge’

Parental Support

Parents are a vital part of our school community.  We have a warm and welcoming ethos where all parents feel safe and secure.

We aim to ensure that all our parents feel welcome in school and are given opportunities to support their children and join in with all aspects of school life.

Our buddies welcome new families by showing them around the school.

Where there is a need school provides uniform and resources for children.

We also provide a school pick up service for children whose families are in need of this.

We signpost parents to Asylum Link for advice where needed.

Our school website can be translated into over 100 languages so that accessing information is readily available.

English language lessons are held weekly for parents who need support with their English language.  In these sessions we use a variety of resources including Jolly Phonics.

Parents are regularly invited into school to access learning opportunities for themselves and their children.

We have a weekly basic English language and phonic session for parents for whom English is a second language.

We meet every Monday morning from 9am-10am

Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.

Parents were supported with language at a NSPCC workshop on staying safe online.
